General Information

Zinc citrate is also named trizinc citrate trihydrate.It’s a tribasic salt of citric acid. It is produced by complete neutralisation of citric acid with high purity zinc oxide, subsequent crystallisation and dehydration.It occurs as colorless crystalline powder. It is insoluble in water and practically soluble in acid.

Zinc citrate is widely used in dental care products such as toothpaste,mouthwash and chewing gum due to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects and its ability to reduce or inhibit the formation of dental plaque and tartar.In pharmaceutical industry zinc citrate could resist usual cold.Zinc citrate is more and more used in food supplements,functional foods and drinks and other fields.
